MARCH UPDATE

The voices of the multitude of kids surrounding the playroom were drowned out as Levi sat in a corner in silence. He didn't know where he was, let alone why he was taken to this place. He didn't even know where his parents were. He was just taken by these people, who he didn't even recognize. Some of the kids he recognized from school, while others were also fairly new to him. as Levi continued to sit there, drowning out the laughter of the kids, the only set of voices that he heard was a boy picking on a younger girl. After a few good minutes of Levi just sitting there, listening to the conversation between the two unfold, He got up from his corner, walking over towards the crowd of other kids that started to form, also taking notice.

Once things got more heated between the two, the boy lifted his hand with the toy train, as if about to send it flying into the girl's face, Levi snatched it out of his hands before he could even swing. When the other boy noticed that Levi had taken it, he said, "Hey, give that back! It's mine!" Levi then said, "Why should I? And not anymore it isn't," Levi retorted. "In fact," Levi said, pushing the boy out of the way; sitting down in front of the girl he was fighting. "It's hers now. Go find some other toy to play with," Levi said, not even so much as looking at the other boy while he finished speaking. The other boy huffed, marching away which made Levi form a smug little smirk as he glanced over. He then looked back at the little girl sitting in front of him and said, "Doubt he'll mess with ya as long as I'm here. Joey's an idiot who likes picking on anyone," Levi grinned, pushing the toy train in front of the girl. "I'm Levi. What's your name?" he asked, being friendly despite not knowing who she was, let alone where they were.

[attr="class","carvetext"]It hadn't been that long since she'd been led away from the horrid smell of blood and lingering images of death, whisked away by dorian westcliff with promises of newfound safety. But as she feels her fingers stinging from the toy train being wrenched out of her hands, she can't help but flinch away as she awaits her fate -

That comes in the form of a stern voice telling the other to go away, an angry huff and the gentle sensation of a toy bumping against her shin. When she dares to look back, she finds the speaker looking right back at her with the kindest smile, patient as he offers his name and waits for her to return the gesture.

She takes a moment, hurriedly wiping the brimming tears with her sleeves, then cautiously reaching for the train. And when she doesn't find her hand being slapped away, she picks it up and starts fidgeting with it.

"Eh..." Her words are close to a whisper, the squeaking of the train wheels over her palms nearly drowning them out. "Eris..."

Levi continued to smile at the little girl, despite her crying. "Damn, Joey! Why does he have to be a big fat jerk?" Levi thought to himself. Weren't they all worried and confused? Turning on one another wasn't a good idea. Then again, what could they do to get out of here anyhow? Levi didn't know why he and the rest of the kids were brought here. Every time he'd ask, he'd be ignored as if they didn't hear his question. It was annoying.

Regardless, if he could cheer the girl up, then things wouldn't be all that gloomy, right? Levi listened carefully, trying to drown out the squeaking from the train wheels as the little girl was trying to tell him her name. "Eris, huh?" Levi said, thinking the name suited her. Levi kept his smile while grabbing the only box of tissue in the room off the small table sitting next to him and handing it to her. "Well, Eris. We can be friends! Plus, if mean booger-eating Joey comes back, I can show ya how to get rid of him," Levi said confidently, his smile turning into a grin. The thing about Joey was that he may seem tough but he was actually the biggest cry-baby in here. All ya had to do what kick him in the shin and he'd whine for a good couple of hours. Plus, giving a bully a taste of their own medicine was actually relieving to Levi in a way.

[attr="class","carvetext"]Friends? In a place like this? Does he know what's going on in a place like this? She's barely managed to wrap her head around the concept, but whatever she's managed to understand in that very little time she's been given, is that they sit deep in enemy territory.

"He's not the scariest..." She murmurs, her voice a little more emboldened as LEVIATHAN SPADE continues to show no signs of aggression. "Do you really know how to make him stop?" Bright ruby eyes look to the boy, her attention now drawn in to each little bit of his appearance.

"He calls me freaky sometimes because... 'cos of the scars I have. They look really weird..."

Though Levi might not be able to identify anything from the first go, he might realise that she's wearing awfully large clothes for a kid of her size. While her limbs are all covered up by the length of clothes, there are parts that can't quite be hidden, darker patches of skin marring her neck and dotting her right cheek.

"Mister told me that it'd take a long while before they go away."

Sure, this was ... an odd place to make friends, but with what happened between her and Joey, Levi figured she could use a friend. She didn't have to trust him outright, but he hoped that Eris would at least know that he didn't mean any harm. Besides, he hated Joey so, doing anything to spite him was considered a good thing. When Eris had said that Joey wasn't the scariest, Levi had a feeling as to whom she was referring to. The adults that took them here. She was right though. Levi didn't trust them, and they kept on ignoring him whenever he asked them something, which he didn't like.

When Eris asked how to make joey stop. Levi smirked, leaning over to whisper in her ear. "Kick him right below the knee really hard. He'll cry like a baby," Levi finished, pulling away. Plus, In Levi's opinion, it was an equivalent exchange. After all, he was going to smack her with the toy train if it weren't for Levi taking it from him. What was it that his mom told him? 'if another kid hits you at school, hit them back. Yeah, he believed that was it. Levi remembered that his parents told him to hide back at his home. Unfortunately, he was found, but not by his parents. In fact ... he didn't even know what happened to his parents ... He hoped that they were okay. Despite the circumstances though, he tried to be optimistic, believing that he'd be with them soon enough.

When she told him about the mean things Joey would say to her, that was when Levi started to notice her scars. As Levi had begun to be more aware of Eris's features, he didn't know fully why, but ... he felt ... sad. It looked like Eris had gotten hurt really bad somehow. "So what if they look weird!?" Levi then said abruptly. "Joey does a bunch of weird stuff too, so he doesn't have any room to talk," Levi said, being truthful. By that statement, it was clear that he wasn't bothered by how Eris looked. In fact, it was all the more reason to look out for her. Joey would never leave her alone, so Levi felt that in order to make sure he didn't bother her anymore, he'd be there if need be. Plus, Eris now knows Joey's weakness, and as long as she did what Levi told her, Joey would run away crying like the big fat baby he is.

"You're funny." It's spoken with the straightest face a child can put on, "You're weird too, in a lot of ways."

She tugs at her collar, pulling it up a little more before hiding her palms deeper in her sleeves.

"Why are you being so nice?"

Levi couldn't help but grin, taking Eris' choice of words as a compliment rather than an insult. That was just the kind of kid Levi was. When Eris asked him why he was being so nice to her, Levi quickly answered. "Because there's no reason not to be, despite everything going on," Levi said, a soft smile forming; directing in Eris' general direction. In a way, part of him was being optimistic.

He believed that things would get back to normal soon enough, not fully realizing just what kind of position he was in just yet. All he could do was focus on the now and then look forward to the near future. and currently, the 'now' was befriending the small younger girl that was with. "Joey doesn't understand that we're all in the same boat here, which is why he barely gets along with anyone. The only reason why he has friends is that they're afraid of him, which is dumb if ya ask me. Then again, he and his little group are a bunch of idiots anyway," Levi said, glancing over at Joey and his two other so-called 'friends' sitting over in the corner, giving him death stares. Levi knew though that was all they could manage to do though. Levi wasn't someone they could just pick on, like all the other kids here in the room.

"All ya gotta know is that I'm not gonna hurt ya and if someone else does," Levi said, colliding his left fist into his right hand, "I'll make them regret it," Levi said with a smirk filled with determination.
